Mike Palmer Quoted in The Street.Com on Retirement Planning

Flexible retirement planning strategies are important, but not the same as having a flexible investment allocation.

Ark Royal Wealth Management founder Mike Palmer, CFP®, was recently quoted in an article by Kate Stalter in TheStreet.com (You Might Live Longer Than You Think. Here's How to Invest for It.)

Statler referenced Mike's November 2025 Kiplinger article (A Retirement Plan Isn't Just a Number: Strategic Withdrawals Can Make a Huge Difference) but we believe there's an important distinction between retirement planning withdrawal strategies (which we agree should maintain some flexibility) and one's investment allocation (which we believe should generally remain constant absent significant life changes).

As David Booth, co-founder of Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA), has observed, it's important to have an investment philosophy / allocation that one can stick with through all investment conditions. We echo Booth's sentiments and believe most investors can enjoy a successful investment experience by simply capturing market returns that are available to all disciplined investors.
